How long do the effects of neuromodulators and fillers last?
It’s a question many patients ask us: how long do the results last after an injection of neuromodulators or fillers?
To answer this, we asked Dr. Morin, the clinic’s owner and physician, to explain her perspective with complete transparency.
“Theoretically, the effects of neuromodulators last about three months.
That said, for someone who gets them preventatively, that doesn’t mean they necessarily need to return every three months. It is entirely possible to have a treatment once or twice a year, depending on their needs.
However, for people in a stage of life where facial expressions are more pronounced or active, it may be wise to treat more regularly to maintain the desired effect.”
Regarding fillers, Dr. Morin adds a few nuances:
“It depends a lot on the amount used. For example, at conferences, it is not uncommon to see treatments performed with 6 to 10 syringes in a single session. In that case, the results can last one to one and a half years.
But that is not my preferred way of working.
I like to build a plan gradually, based on the patient’s goals. After 2 or 3 appointments in close succession to establish a solid foundation, we can then move to a maintenance schedule of about every six months, allowing for a natural progression while maintaining the balance of the face.”
In summary:
- Neuromodulators: effects last about 3 months, but the frequency depends on individual needs.
-
Fillers: last 12 to 18 months depending on the amounts used, but maintenance every 6 months is often sufficient after a good initial plan.
At Clinique Dre Morin, the approach is always gentle, personalized, and gradual. The goal? To help you feel good, without ever overdoing it.
